Poonhill Trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal. This trek offers you one of the magnificent panoramic views of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7855m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna South (7219m), Nilgiri (6940m), Tukuche peak (6920m), Lamjung Himal (6931m), Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) to name a few. Apart from mountains, we get a chance to observe traditional and typical Gurung villages, the world’s largest rhododendron forest, water fall, hot spring, and some wild animals. There is no age limit for this trek as it is one of the easiest and low altitude trekking route. It is suitable especially for those who have limited time and family with kids. We can customize Gorepani-Poonhill trek up to 3 days depending upon your time. Poonhill Trek commences from the moist village of Nayapul of Western Nepal. We then trek to Gorepani via Ulleri. We hike to Poonhill to have superlative panoramic views of snow-capped surrounding mountains. The trail through rhododendron forest takes us to Tadhapani, and Gandruk- the beautiful Gurung village and we then drive back to Pokhara.

Itinerary
You'll be met at the airport by a representative from Altitude Experts Trips & Expedition who will escort you to the hotel room, which has been booked in advance for you.
You'll be staying in Thamel, a tourist hub in Kathmandu. Thamel is bounded by outdoor shops (ranging from local to brand name shops such as Mountain Hard Wear, The North Face, Sherpa Gear), hotels, bars & restaurants, spas, a few pharmacies, and music shops. Enjoy your evening in Kathmandu strolling the streets of Thamel and shop for some souvenirs if you like.
You can go to Pokhara by means of land or air ways. It takes about 25 minutes by plane and in the same day you can drive to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri. But, if you go by land way, which is drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara then it takes 7-8 hours’ drive to get to Pokhara and have to stay overnight at Pokhara.
Having an early breakfast, we head to the bus stop and drive to Pokhara by Prithvi highway. Leaving Kathmandu behind at Thankot, we descend down to Naubise and then drive along the Mahesh Kholan and Trisuli River to Muglin accordingly. We then cross the bridge over Trishuli River and drive straight forward along the Marshyangdi River to Dumre. We then drive to Pokhara for two and half more hours. We cross several hamlets, rivers, and green hills en route to Pokhara. We get to see some mountains from the bus as well.
Early in the morning, our driver will come to the hotel and escort us to Ulleri. Normally, it takes two and a half hours to drive from Pokhara to Ulleri. Our trek commences from Ulleri. We will stop at Ulleri for our lunch and start our short trek to Banthati for an hour.
Overnight at Banthanti.
After breakfast, we leave Ulleri Banthanti. Several gradual and steep ascents through the pine and rhododendron forest lead us to Nangethanti, where we stop for tea. We then continue towards Gorepani for another one and a half hours through the rhododendron forest. We can observe a small but beautiful waterfall in the forest and cross two metal bridges. Overnight at Gorepani.
Today, early in the morning, we will hike to Poonhill, located at an elevation of 3210 meters. It offers one of the best panoramic views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7855m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna South (7219m), Nilgiri (6940m), Tukuche peak (6920m), Lamjung Himal (6931m), Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) to name a few. It takes a half-hour walk from Gorepani to Poonhill. After capturing the scenic views of the Himalayas, we return to the hotel and have breakfast. Afterward, you will trek back to Birethati for approx. 4-5 hrs then drive back to Pokhara.
After breakfast, we go to the bus stop. Leaving the beautiful city of Pokhara behind, we drive along Marshyangdi River at the beginning and then along Trishuli River from Muglin to Naubise. We then drive uphill to Thankot and enter the Kathmandu valley.
Depending upon your flight schedule, our staff will pick you up from the hotel and transfer to the airport for final departure.

Trip Notes
This is a short trip in terms of duration, but we will be climbing to an elevation of 3,210 meters above sea level (masl) and sleeping at 2,012 masl. Therefore, please make sure to carry enough warm clothing.
On the morning we visit Poon Hill, we will start early to catch the sunrise. It can be quite cold at that time, so dress accordingly.
